Basic Description
The main learning goal is to determine how much of six kinds of food to buy when shopping once weekly for family meals. Each kind of food was represented as a variable including as milk, butter, hamburger meat, bread, and apples. The time horizon for the model was one week. A graph of daily consumption for each food variable was generated using system dynamics modeling software. This information was used to decide how much of each food would be needed for the next week. An important model assumption was that food demand would remain the same from week to week.
